2008-2009 Competition Team and Performing Teams Auditions Schedule and Information Listed below is the information for the 2008-2009 competition season. Please read all the information thoroughly and make notes of any questions. We will have a competition tryout meeting on July 29, 2008 at 7:30 pm to answer all questions. Audition forms must be turned in by August 1, 2008. Please print this form What is needed to audition for Dolce Competition Teams? All dancers must turn in their audition form by August 1, 2008 along with their $300 deposit Parents must attend the competition tryout meeting on July 29, 2008 It is recommended that all dancers take summer classes and attend intensives offered Attend the comp try out intensive on August 5, 6 ,and 7 All dancers are required to wear all black and have their hair pulled back in a pony tail or bun for auditions and until choreography is completed All students auditioning must be current on tuition NO EXCEPTIONS Arrive at Dolce 30 minutes prior to audition time so you are streched and ready to go when called in. Placement for all teams, duets, and trios will be made by the audition panel. Please do not question their placement as they have your child’s best interest in mind when placing them. Placement is based on age and ability.
Results will be posted at the Studio no later than August 11, 2008. Do not call for results. Things to consider before Auditioning Dolce Competition Teams require a strong commitment, hard work, dedication, a passion for dance, and a drive for self improvement. Being part of the Dolce Dance competition teams is an experience your child won’t forget and the friendships they develop are priceless. Dolce Dance opened its doors only 3 years ago and is already known throughout California as one of the leading Dance Studios. Our director, Kendra Harrington has been recognized nationally for her choreography and her dancers. Dolce Dance Studio is growing fast but will never loose site of it's purpose, to give each child the attiontion they need to grow and develope. What to expect after making the Dolce Dance Competition teams You will be a part of an exciting and awesome group of girls, directed by Kendra Harrington. Some of our teams will be choreographed by the leading choreographers in the nation. Being a part of Dolce Competition teams is a self-esteem building, energetic, and priceless learning experience. You will be amazed by how much your child will accomplish and learn in this program. All Competition Team Students will be required to take 2 Jazz, 1 ballet, and 1 conditioning class per week in addition to their team class(es) if you are on a tap or lyrical team you will be required to add these technique classes. All comp classes and extra practices are MANDATORY Attend Master classes offered at Dolce with our out of town guest teachers Compete in a minimum of 5 dance competitions locally and throughout California Attend summer session at Dolce All dancers must arrive 10 minutes before class and be ready to go when the class starts. Enter the class with a positive attitude ready to work hard and aspire to inspire your team mates. You must attend all scheduled competitions All tuition and comp fees must be paid in the month they are due or you will be dropped from the team and forfiet any and all deposits. Registration will be available online and you must be registered by August 12, 2008. Annual registration fee of $25.00 or $40 per family and a $300.00 non refundable deposit per student is required at registration. The deposit will be applied to your account January 15th 2009. Tuition is due on the 1st of every month and costume deposits are due on the 15th of every month. We will require either direct deposit or a credit card on file. If fees or tuition have not been paid by the 5th of the month your credit card will be charged and a $15.00 late fee will be applied. Costume deposits will be $100.00 for each team. Costume deposits are due Sept. 15, 2008. You can choose to pay the balance in 1 payment on Jan 15, 2009 or make payments of $50.00 per costume per month until the balance is paid. If you are new to Dolce you will also need to purchase a travel suit and it will be paid for the same way as a costume. Dancers are allowed two unexcused absents per team during the season. Unexcused absents do not include times your child is sick or pre-approved (by Kendra) or absent due to a school related activity.(give at least 1 week notice). Choreography days are mandatory!!!!!!! Above unexcused absences can not be used on choreography days. These days are usually the only day that an outside choreographer can come into town. If you can’t make it to these practices you will be removed from the team. Dolce Competition Dancers can not compete with any other competitive dance studios. Solo's and duet/trios are only offered to dancers competing on Dolce teams. If you can not complete the season for any reason, your group and or duet/trio costumes will remain with the studio until the end of the season. At the end of the season your costume(s) will be returned to you. Our season begins August 11, 2008 and goes through July 31, 2009 Tuition is due monthly and will not be prorated for missed classes. You are welcome to make up missed classes anytime within the month they are missed.

Please take the following cost into consideration before deciding how many teams you and your child are able to commit to. This is an Estimate and will vary.
Costume Estimate = $150.00 - $275.00 (including rhinestones) Competition entry fees per group, per competition $35.00 Choreographers fees $100.00 – $200.00 per dance, per dancer (only select teams) Please let Kendra know if you would not like to be considered for a team using outside choreography. In house choreography is free for groups Dolce Team Sweats $165.00-250.00 Teacher Travel Fee $50.00 (this will go towards the teachers hotel room, gas, and food)

Dolce Performing Teams The Dolce performing teams are designed for children 3 years through 12 years who would like the experience of performing for an audience but are not yet ready for the Competition team commitment and travel. This program has fewer requirements and performs at local events only. This is a great start for dancers who are considering competition, but want to get their feet wet first. *New this season- we will have 1 or 2 youth pep or (pom pon) teams. These teams are for elementary age children and will only compete locally. They will get to perform at carnivals, the Christmas Parades, recital, and local competitions. The requirements are the same as performing team and you can do both if you choose. What is needed to be on performing teams? All dancers must turn in their audition form by August 1, 2008 Attend the Competition / Performing team parents meeting on July 29, 2008 It is recommend that your child take summer classes - All students must be current on tuition
What is expected after my child makes the Performing Team?
