Meet Our Instructors Kendra Harrington – Director Kendra Harrington began teaching 10 years ago under the direction of Veda Burton. She was taught that incorporating fun into the art of dance was the best way to inspire young dancers. After 7 years of teaching and choreographing for some of the best dancers in the nation, she started her own dance studio...Dolce Dance. Her goal is to "Aspire to Inspire"! She believes in teaching her students to dream big and believe in themselves. "Dance as if no one is watching" is one of her favorite sayings. Kendra's students have won numerous high point awards and have been recognized many times on the national level. She herself has won countless choreography awards. Kendra's love and commitment to dance is shown in every class she teaches and to every student that she teaches. Kendra's gift for dance has led her to a successful career in dance instruction and choreograpy. After two years of running a buisness and trying to give her all as a teacher, she realized she would rather focus on her students. Kendra sold the studio and remained the director of dance for Dolce Dance Studio. She is now able to devote herself to her students and the art of dance. Kendra feels she can make every child a star by giving them the proper training, love, and encouragement necessary to help each student reach their full potential. Chris Todar- Teacher and Choreographer Chris Todar'Chris Todar's dancing career began at the age of 9 in Riverside, California. Dancing at first was an after school activity for Chris; eventually as he began to compete in local and national dance competitions, dancing became a passion. Chris has performed with the Freddie Finn Dance Studio, Riverside Ballet Arts, University of Irvine, Just Plain Dancin', and West Coast School of the Arts over the past decade. He has work for The Disney Resort dancing in many of their different shows while at the same time graduating=2 0high school. He has won multiple awards at dance competitions and has traveled to Australia twice; first to perform at the 2000 Summer Olympics and in 2005 as the Rainbow Connection's Senior Dancer of the Year winner. Around the age of 18, Chris made the decision to become a dance teacher. He began by working at Just Plain Dancin’ in Riverside, California and with the encouragement of his peers, he has not looking back. Much of Chris's extensive knowledge as a choreographer stems from his teacher Terry Schulke from Just Plain Dancin’. She is one of his greatest inspirations as a dancer and teacher. Chris decided to move to Fresno and join the teaching staff at Dolce Dance Studio. He brought with him a new and exciting feel to the classes and the kids at Dolce. Over the past year, his fresh, inventive choreography has won many Choreography Awards and been honored with numerous top scores. Being a dance teacher, he feels that every class should have a lesson to be learned. If no growth is coming from the teacher, then no growth will come from the students. His passion and love for the art form can be seen from his teaching and his work.
